FS#2707 - "Make current" and "Edit layer" use the same icon (a pencil)
In the layer list there’s a pencil for each layer,
that appears at first glance to be the edit feature.
It’s not.
The suggestion is to use different icons for the two features.
Duplicate from
FS#2545by the same user. Now as 'Suggestion' on 'Documentation' instead of 'QCAD (main)'.
Reason for closing
FS#2545by Andrew: Won't implement. The pencil icon is used for the buttons:
- Edit contents of selected block (BE) ... Switch to selected Block content for editing
- Edit Layer (LE) ... Edit current active its parent layer, name and attributes
And also for indicating the current active Block and the current active Layer.
Nothing wrong with that.
However, there is a subtle difference between the Block List and the Layer List.
"Make current" is not really the pencil icon in front of the layer attributes columns.
It is the tooltip of the empty icons where a pencil is shown when current.
Perhaps the tooltip can be cleared for the already current active layer.
But perhaps the tooltip can be deprecated completely because simply clicking on the layer name is also "Make current" for the associated layer.
