[solved] See through layer

Post by Graham » Thu Nov 12, 2020 5:25 pm

Hi ALL
When I import a bit mat image and trace through it some times the traced lines are on top of the image sometimes they disappear behind the image when I turn the image layer on/off.
My procedure is as follows
Scan sections of the original (it is a large original)
Create a layer for them.
Import them one by one.
Copy and move the individual images to create a mosaic.
Rescale the bit maps to suit the drawing QCAD units.
Trace and draw the objects with different layers.
Turn the scanned image layer off so I can do some addition detail on the traced objects.
Turn the scanned image layer on,
That is when I cannot see all of my drawing some of it is will hidden behind behind the different sections of the bit maps.

You can move the image to the background using Modify > Send to Back. Layers are not related to drawing order in any way.

Hi,
you can send entities (not a layer) to the front or back with (MF) and (MB).
You can't fade a layer but you can fade a bitmap within the Property Editor. Makes tracing much easier ....
Select the bitmap and check the Property Editor below "Specific Properties".
Work smart, not hard: QCad Pro
Win10/64, QcadPro, QcadCam version: Current.
