Hi All
I'm evaluating QCad on Ubuntu 20.04.
I have used Autocad extensively and with it I could enter into command line
Offset space distance in numbers space and then flick mouse to choose offset side.
Is there a way to do this in QCad instead of using the Options Toolbar?
I apologise in advance for such a noob question.
Mick
How to offset without using options toolbar

Re: How to offset without using options toolbar
Hi,
I think you mean Menu .. Modify .. Offset(With Distance) (OF)
Again, for that you need the Options Toolbar.
The same goes for LP, AC, CC, EC, OQ wich are shape specific.
In QCAD, rather all options are passed with the Options Toolbar ... or with a dialog.

CVH

Re: How to offset without using options toolbar
Hi Mick,
... if you prefer to work mainly with the keyboard you can force QCAD to stay within the Options bar:
Launch "Offset with distance" with the shortcut OF, use Ctrl+Space to focus on the Options bar, type in the offset value like 100, chose the offset side with the mouse. Done.
That would be very similar to working only with the command line ...
No - Optionbar is the way to go. But ....

Work smart, not hard: QCad Pro
Win10/64, QcadPro, QcadCam version: Current.

Re: How to offset without using options toolbar
You can just start typing a number. For example:
Press the O key, then the F key (for offset), then press 4 to change the offset to 4. Click to choose the entity to offset.
