Line start point not accepted

I am usung QCAD Community Edition version: 3.22.0.0; Date: Mar 1 2019; Qt version: 5.5.1; Compiler version: MSVC++ 12.0 (2013); Revision: 2ba5a26380d25bb1699c95a808edb01c083385a1; OS Windows 10 Home, Version 1809, Build 17134.706. When drawing a line, the start point does not register until the 2nd or 3rd point entered either command line or mouse click. I have also noticed this on a PC running Lubuntu 18.10. I would appreciate any information on this issue.
