Post Processer: Sorry not sure what this is
I'm consistently getting an issue with the nesting feature where some of the parts are not placeable even though they can clearly be placed. For instance in this case I keep getting two not placeable items even though I've selected multiple sheets and there is plenty of space to place in the second sheet.
Any ideas why this is the case?
I've noticed it happen on large parts and even very tiny parts.
Thanks!

Re: Nesting not placing parts that are easily placeable
Figured out the issue. Posting it here for anyone else that runs across the same issue.
Apparently the nesting function doesn't like it if you have two parts that are exactly the same. Because of my workflow of getting the files out of Solidworks I'm sometimes exporting to DXF files that match as a means of counting quantities I need. QCAD only allows the first to be nested. So the solution is to delete matching and use the nesting part quantity feature.

Just exactly the same is not quite correct. I think exactly the same content in different blocks would describes the issue better ...jamesjconnell wrote: ↑Thu Feb 02, 2023 9:47 pmApparently the nesting function doesn't like it if you have two parts that are exactly the same.
You can test it in your drawing. Explode the 7 parts and nesting will work like a charm ...
I tested it on a simplified situation with 6 identical rectangle. Saved as block with 6 different block names. Nesting failed again - only one block was correctly placed ...
