Lost Tabs

Post by Dreamaker » Sat Feb 09, 2019 2:51 pm

I an totally lost and confused with Tabs, when I use it, it seems to have a mind of its own and tabs where I did not want them. I know there is a simple answer to my problem, but I just don't get it. I am not sure of a few meaning in the manual about tabs. I am not clear what is meant by "Original Contour","Offset Contour" and "Radius Compensation". I did a few projects and set tabs and they ended up in different places then I thought I set them. What am I doing wrong, or what don't I understand?

Thank You

Dan

I can confirm that this does not work as expected. The contours are relatively close together and tabs are not assigned to the right offset contour because of this. This might be improved for a future version.

What is the original contour and what is a offset contour, I think that is where my confusion may lay. i just made some clips for may faucet to hold and 6mm water line and I use tabs and seemed in this cast to work fine.

The original contour is what you draw, the contour with the measurements you actually want to achieve.

The offset contour is an automatically calculated contour that shows the movement of the tool center. This is a contour that is offset from the original contour by the tool radius. This is typically shown with a dash line type.
