Win 10, Qcad 3.24
Hi,
My name is Joseph Casalino and I live in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. I am new to the CAD world and want to get proficient in making Cad drawings with the hopes of converting them into CAM instructions. I am a retired Plastic Injection Moldmaker. My college degree is in Fine Arts and I was lucky that my father owned a Plastic Moldmaking company and, using the old Master/Apprentice training, taught me the trade. My goal, as I left college, was to be an Art Teacher; but, those jobs were hard to find at that time. So, I picked up my trade and was a Plastic Injection Moldmaker for 50 years before I retired. When I retired, I took up my Art work again and became a Welded Steel Sculptor. But, the machine shop 'genes' were in my blood, so I purchased a Milling Machine and started dabbling in that again. My daughter approached me with an idea in 2019 and I made the prototypes for a fixture to be used by Event Planners to align their 'escort cards'. We have patented the idea and now I need to convert my Mechanical Drawings into CAD drawings and later CAM.

Hi Joseph - welcome to the QCAD forum.
Sounds like you have all ducks in a row - except the CAD part. Don't worry about that! With your background I assume it will be a piece of cake
