DXF to G code

Post by Sam Rinaudo » Tue Feb 19, 2019 10:51 am

Hello
My name is Sam and I am new to Q cad cam. I have just purchased a Stepcratf 840 CNC router.
I have been able to do some cad drawings but I have been having trouble converting them to G code.
Would you help me get started.
Thank you
Sam

Hello Sam,

Welcome to the forum, it's great to hear that you have chosen QCAD/CAM to work with.

Please elaborate and explain some more specifics on what you need help with in the QCAD/CAM forum section.

Regards

Clive
For the best support please state your operating system, QCAD version and add any supporting DXF/DWG files, screenshots etc...

A good place to start is the QCAD/CAM tutorial at:
https://qcad.org/doc/qcadcam/QCADCAM_Tutorial_en.pdf

This will walk you through the process of adding tools, creating toolpaths and creating G-Code.

For any follow-up question, please let us also know what system you are on (Windows, macOS, Linux) and what controller you are using (e.g. WinPC-NC, UCCNC, etc.).
