Hello from Arizona, USA

Post by Steelman_55 » Fri Sep 13, 2019 2:52 am

Hello everyone,

I am new to the QCAD software and am hoping to get some MUCH needed information from this site. I have been using Torchmate cad and although it is similar it is still very confusing to me. Where is a good place to get some video training? I do plasma cutting of structural steel parts on an Arclight Dynamics table using a Hypertherm Powermax 85 plasma. Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks everyone.

There are a lot of QCAD youtube videos out there but I'm not aware of a video training which brings you from chapter to chapter to the finish line.

Depending on your level of expertise I would recommend the QCAD book which will introduce you to CAD (Computer-Aided Design) with a ton of information and easy to follow QCAD example lessons.

For a preview please check this link:

Sounds like you are also locking into CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing). Is your plan to use the QCAD/CAM edition?

FYI: The mentioned QCAD book will cover CAD but not the CAM add-in. However - here is a brief QCAD/CAM tutorial:

Work smart, not hard: QCad Pro
Win10/64, QcadPro, QcadCam version: Current.
