linked images not found AND not selectable

Post by ubi_laptop » Tue Feb 07, 2023 2:42 pm

Qcad 3.27.9.0 (3.27.9)
Build Date:
Jan 12 2023
Qt Version:
5.14.2
on MacosX 11.6

I open a file woth 25 linked images and the programm do not load them.
So I did check with a text editor the dxf file and I find inside a relative path. So, I double check, if I have a folder with that name in same directory and I have it. Now I can select alla images via a filter, but I CAN'T select any of them individdually, so I can't insert/check the path again manually.
any suggestion about:
1) how to edit correctly the dxf to point to my file
2) how to select those images whose path is not found (alternative).

thank you

Hi,

The relative path should not be an issue for 3.27.9.0 but the data must be located there of course.
"Not selectable" is not fully true, there is nothing to select, the four corners will all be at the insertion point.

For images with broken links, QCAD can not retrieve dimensions.

Use the selection filter to look for images with no height or no width for example.
You could isolate these on a dedicated layer but remind that this alters the drawing.
Now only show that layer and walk trough the entities with next (>) and/or previous (<).
Then you can adjust the source for each.

But the best way to solve this is to keep the pictures in the same folder as the drawing file.
QCAD will always revert to the drawing folder when it doesn't find them in the given location.

And yes, editing the dxf file textual is also an option.
Don't add or delete lines, just change the file path.

Regards,
CVH
