I have two files that crash on open with QCAD 3.27.6.0 (3.27.6); previous versions worked ok with the two files. I found one reference on the board from a couple of years ago; marked as solved but I could not find what was done to fix the issue, although it seemed as a file version change. I am running latest version of ubuntu. The messages are below. Thanks

QCAD has unexpectedly quit.
Please use the offscreen or minimal platform plugin for headless systems
(without a running X11 server):
/usr/local/share/qcad/qcad -platform offscreen
In addition, you might have to override the default Qt style
to prevent the loading of a native desktop style (such as GTK):
/usr/local/share/qcad/qcad -style plastique

Re: Crash on open of file
Could you please let me know which exact package you have downloaded and installed on your system (file name of downloaded installer)?
Also, please indicate your exact operating system, distribution, version, etc.

Re: Crash on open of file
Off-topic ...
I liked your hot tub area paving.
With 604 Block References and 92 Lines (all duplicates)
Please find attached (metric) Hatch pattern.
Scaled so a squared stone is 50x50 ... units.
As imperial there are odd factors involved that make it less accurate to store the numbers in a pattern file.
Post-scaling ensures a better overall accuracy.
Originally these stones are 1.08333333ft squared what is very near to 330.200mm
You could use the pattern in scale f=3.25/150 (or 0.065/3 for that matter)
And use the Hatch origin to align it with the hot tub area.
I only couldn't come up with a suitable naming.
Pat files are plain textual files and the internal name must be synchronized.

CVH

Downloaded file: qcad-3.27.6-pro-linux-qt4-x86_64.tar.gz and running KDE on Ubuntu 22.04 (jammy). I have been using qcad pro for many years and for about two years on this desktop.
Re: Crash on open of file
Thanks, I will take a look at the pattern. I did struggle a bit on how to build the area. There are three paver sizes and I wanted to retain the actual look so that my wife could better visualize the final result.
Re: Crash on open of file
qcad-3.27.6-pro-linux-qt4-x86_64.tar.gz is a legacy package intended for (very) old Linux distributions (10+ years).
Please download and install instead:
QCAD Professional 3.27.6 for Linux 64bit
qcad-3.27.6-pro-linux-x86_64.tar.gz / .run
Or:

Re: Crash on open of file
Ok, solved, sorry to waste your time. I downloaded the legacy file for the update instead of qcad-3.27.6-pro-linux-qt5.14-x86_64.tar.gz. Just made the change and I opened the file. Thanks.
