Copy & Paste versus layer list

Post by CVH » Thu Oct 22, 2020 10:59 am

QCADpro 3.25.2.1 / win7pro 32 bit

For this topic:
viewtopic.php?f=33&t=7698

I drew a spline with hard angles in the dwg file.
Copied a snip to a new file and the newly added layers were NOT displayed.
After saving and restoring, the drawing looks good.
See the posted file: LCS Dimmer snip.dxf

I have redone this several times.
Eliminated the nature of the splines by converting them to polylines.

What I found was:
A: The paste does not show the pasted entities immediately.
Even not pasting 5 times, only the preview you drag along does, they all appear on the first pan / zoom.

B: the addition of layer List does not change immediately, they appear on the first refresh of the layer list by:
- add/edit/change layer
- swapping drawing views
- after save/revert (also a refresh offcource)

Thanks for your report.

I couldn't reproduce that here so far. What are the exact steps?

I proceed as follows:
- load file "LCS Dimmer snip.dxf"
- copy the cyan spline
- paste into a new, empty document (using default paste options)

Both the graphics view and the layer list are updated immediately and show the new entity and the new layer.

I proceded as follows:
- loaded the file "LCS Dimmer snip.dxf"
- box select all
- copy (the same with refs)
- paste into a new, empty document

Pasted it 4 times (using default paste options, see top)
No pasted entities are showing.
No extra layer is showing.
One can see the last RZ.
The preview is still hanging on the cursor.

When I zoom a little with the mousewheel, the entities appear.
No extra layer is showing.
The preview is still hanging on the cursor.

When I switch to the drawing 'Untitled 4' and switch back, the layer list is updated.
The preview is still hanging on the cursor.

I can reproduce this with every source.
I can reproduce this with a single selection too.

Thanks. Unfortunately, it's not reproducible here with QCAD 3.25.2.1, Windows 7, 32bit. I'll have to leave it at this for now. Hopefully, we'll get feedback from other users.

The only difference with a standard installation is the development of Tile2Hatch.

I removed it completely, including its settings in the QCAD3.ini ...
Same result :cry:

After pasting:

After swapping document views:
One still can see the preview hanging at the cursor
Clean trial2.png

And yes, the yellow entity is a hatch by T2H. :P

Don't say that I need another full system wipe ....

I've now managed to reproduce this here (strangely only on a Windows XP machine). There's definitely something off. I will look into it.

Got more refresh issues ....
Altering the shape of a hatch:
Preview = ok
Release = no change
Wheelzoom = updated
