Text Disappearing when zooming in and out

Hi Andrew

Using Current Release QCAD 3.25.2 on 64bit Windows 10
I seem to have a problem with text disappearing when scrolling mouse wheel / zooming in and out?
Any ideas? Video attached: and dxf file... / testing a pattern...

Thanks for your report.
I cannot reproduce that here somehow (QCAD or QCAD/CAM 3.25.2, Windows 10, 64bit).

Can you indicate some of your settings that might affect this:
- Edit > Application Preferences > Graphics View > Appearance > Number of Threads (what is your current setting? try setting to "1")
- Edit > Application Preferences > Graphics View > Text Rendering > Render text as text / Render text as paths (try the other setting)

Also, can you try a different font?

I tried everything you said above and the one that worked was
changing Render text as text to Render text as paths...
The font I use is one I purchased in a set of 1000 "Arial Rounded MT"
the font is now a free download just Googled it.. FYI

Rendering text as paths is not ideal (slower, less polished).
I do have that font here and it seems to work fine. Possibly a problem with Qt on your particular Windows / graphics setup.

I'll look into it... the card i bought a few years ago now, but works fine with Inventor 2020 3d assemblies over 1000 parts..
FYI the card is NVIDIA Quadro K2000 the drivers are up to date..
I'm happy with the settings for now and there doesn't appear to be any lag, but if it does I'll change back and possibly
look at another graphics card, or it might be time to upgrade my PC..

I wouldn't go so far. It's much more likely Qt not playing along with your setup. I might release some snapshots soon with newer Qt versions to check if that solves the issue.

I think I've found the problem, no idea why this box was empty though...
I've set back to "Render text as text", and selected the font from dropdown
box I can now zoom in and out without the disappearing text thing happening

This has began to haunt me...
I have no idea why this is happening but I know if i select a font it goes away, is it unusual
for this dropdown box to be empty?
Empty = Disappearing text when zooming in and out
Font Selected = No Disappearing of text zooming in and out?
For Customer Reasons I cannot attach the dxf file....
File started from scratch using version 2004 DXF
QCAD/CAM 3.25.2.0 Sep 4 2020
Windows 10 64bit...up to date..

I can confirm this problem is not isolated to you. However, I only seem to see it with fonts supplied via the drawing itself (architect supplied me a drawing and their text comes/goes as you zoom in/out. It always prints right though.

And yes, I will get a blank for the font in the font window too. Note the font name is Architxt Narrow on the far-right.

None of the fonts I have placed on the drawing have the issue (mostly "Standard" and "Helvetica.") I'm at a Win10Pro machine now but I'm pretty sure I've seen it on my iMac (running OSX Catalina or whatever the number is).
