[solved] Middle-line not properly lengthed

Post by Fchriofr » Thu Aug 27, 2020 7:31 pm

OS: Debian 10_64
QCAD: 3.24

Trying to lengthen a middle line results in creating a new line on top of the original middle line.
Have drawn the middle line with command "SM".
Attached file shows the screenshots during creation and the resulting dxf-file itself

I cannot reproduce that here.

There are already some unwanted lines in the drawing.

Tip:
1. select all (4) red lines with rectangle selection over the red lines and delete them.
2. draw the centre line again.
3. then lengthen it.

If it doesn't work, attach the drawing as it is after step 2, so I can see if the situation before lengthening is correct.

There are already 4 lines on layer "centre line":
- 2 from top to bottom
- one with length 0 at the top
- one with length 0 at the bottom

So something went wrong even before using the lengthen tool.

OK, understood. Was my fault: Using the function "SM" created a rectangle with the length "0" of the smaller sides. So at first it appeared to be a line, but it wasn't. Mentioning the "four lines" in your answer let me figure out my problem. Thanks.
