From a QCAD user:
When copying / pasting, nothing is inserted.

When pasting:

- Check that the scale factor (options tool bar at the top) is 1 (or the desired scale factor):

- Check if the units of the source drawing and the target drawing match. If that is not the case, the pasted objects might be very small or very large.

- Check that the layer(s) you are pasting to are not locked. If in doubt, unlock all layers with Layer > Unlock All Layers.
