Problem Reading Files Created by Others

Post by alcpe » Fri Oct 26, 2018 12:53 am

I continue having problems opening and reading .dwg files created by others (no doubt created by AutoCAD or other non-QCAD software). I've attached one sample file from a set I recently received, along with the PDF version of the same file. I'm using QCAD 3.21.3 on Win 10.

Any help is much appreciated!!

Hi,

the content of that "drawing" is on Paper_Space E-001 and ANDTXTE-PS stored.
Work smart, not hard: QCad Pro
Win10/64, QcadPro, QcadCam version: Current.

Hi Husky,
Thanks for the reply. Yes, I see "something" on the places you noted. But I can't make the file appear "normal" as the PDF shows. What am I missing?

There is a reason why we use specialized programs for drawing or writing. I this case somebody used a CAD Program as a word processor - that is a recipe for disaster and right now I can't think of a fast fix for that. I would contact the author of that document to get something in a "common" form.

I can confirm that this type of advanced text formatting (lists, floating text) is not supported by QCAD at this point.
