Weird display of a DWG file after turning to a paper space block
I've found this problem while viewing a .dwg file.
I double clicked a paper space (like "*Paper_Space") in the block list, then the following weird display turned out. But it was displayed all right when the same elements were shown in model space. And i checked the properties of one of those elements that was displayed weird, and there were lots of "*VARIES*" as we can see below, which i've no idea if has anything to do with the problem.

Re: Weird display of a DWG file after turning to a paper space block
I've been using the trial version. I want to know if there is the same problem in a purchased version.
Here i'm attaching the dwg file.
And here is the specific information:
operating system : window 7.
QCAD version : 3.16.5.0
QCAD Edition : QCAD professional trial

Re: Weird display of a DWG file after turning to a paper space block
Yes, the trial and full version are identical in terms of DXF/DWG compatibility, display, handling of blocks and layouts, etc.

Is there any advances? I mean are you going to debug and fix the problem?andrew wrote:Yes, the trial and full version are identical in terms of DXF/DWG compatibility, display, handling of blocks and layouts, etc.
Not pushing you, but just want to get informed about it.
Hope I don't seem to be rude...
Re: Weird display of a DWG file after turning to a paper space block
I would need more information about the problem you are experiencing. Please describe what the problem is, what you are expecting to happen, what is happening instead, etc. Maybe point out where in the drawing something unexpected is happening or shown.
This is expected behavior. The property editor shows "*VARIES*" if multiple entities are selected with varying values for those properties. In this case block references and attributes.there were lots of "*VARIES*" as we can see below

Just open the dwg file I uploaded above, using QCAD.andrew wrote:I would need more information about the problem you are experiencing. Elements are displayed fine when in model space as below. But after it is turned to paper space ( as we double click the second "paper space" line in block list window), the same elements are displayed as below. Weird pink area which is not needed shows.
Re: Weird display of a DWG file after turning to a paper space block
Just Ignore the font at this moment. That's something else I want to fix. Not the problem I am discussing.
Re: Weird display of a DWG file after turning to a paper space block
Thanks for the clarification. These large areas are objects with a relatively large line weight. The lineweight is shown as set, however, the viewports in the layouts are scaled down a lot (factor 0.000028) which results in this discrepancy between geometry and line weight.
I'd suggest to adjust the line weight of the affected layers.
