Windows 10 -QCAD
Now QCAD 3-28-2-0
Was QCAd 3-21-2-0
I have a couple of drawings created on an older version of QCAD
They have a lot of layers but are not particularly big - 250k ish.
They open, all be it slowly, on the older version but not on the newer version - they seem to use a great deal of RAM
I have bigger drawings with more layers (1.2M or so) that open in both versions.
Any suggestions please?

Re: Older drawings on latest version
Hi,
and welcome to the QCAD forum.
Could you share such a 'medium' size file that doesn't open on the newer QCAD releases.
If considered proprietary then you can attach the drawing to a Private Message (PM).

The size is not a good indicator nor is the number of layers, the complexity is.

Re: Older drawings on latest version
Thank you for your response.
The "drawing" is quite complex and also contains some jpegs for "tracing" and scaling and so contains repeat images at different sizes.
I will open it in the earlier version of QCAD and split it up into several drawings and see if they work in the new version - recombining the bits I need later.
The question remains however - why would the drawing be OK(ish) in 3-21 but not in 3-28?
