[solved] Hatching not showing !!!
Hi
I have Qcad Pro for Mac - version 3.24.30 (3.24.3)
Drawing up a couple of components and now hatching does not work.
Both components are a simple tophat design with a central hole running through the centre, top to bottom.
It is the top to bottom hole i want to hatch.
On the first component i was able to edit out sections of lines, create my area and add hatching but not so
on the second component.
I have checked by drawing a simple rectangle, selecting the whole of it and the trying to add hatching but nothing.
Checked the setting for the hatching on the first component and they have remained the same.
Turned my system off, rebooted, loaded Qcad and tried again, and nothing.
Anyone else encountering this problem?
Regards

Re: Hatching not showing !!!
Would you be able to attach your drawing file?
Re: Hatching not showing !!!
Is the active layer able to recieve new entities?
Is there an error thrown on the Command History?

Please review how hatching works in QCAD:
Draw > Hatch > Hatch from Selection
Draw > Hatch > Hatch from Segments
Note that the design at the right has gaps:
Draw > Hatch > Hatch from Selection

Re: Hatching not showing !!!
Is this the component you're trying to hatch? If so, which section?

I had to turn on screen-based linetypes to see this gap. View>Screen-based Linetypes. Perhaps you couldn't see the gap?

Re: Hatching not showing !!!
Also, once you close those gaps, you'd have to chop up that horizontal line that divides the top and bottom half so you have a rectangle without the outer extensions of the line included. You could use the Break out segment tool Modification tools>Break out segment, making sure to uncheck the "remove segment" option. See below. I'm not sure if this is what you're trying to hatch but it might be useful information regardless.

Re: Hatching not showing !!!
Have gone through and found a solution.
Many thanks

Nick. I also find it somewhat easier to "create polyline" when drawing rectangles. That way all you have to do is select 1 point and the whole is selected - makes hatching far easier.
