[solved] Text using Splines

Is there an easy way to create text using lines, splines and other tools rather than manually trying to draw text?

Why do I need it when there is text tool available?
What I need output to the laser is single line text (see image named SingleLineText ).

If I use text in QCAD and Explode it, it always comes as double lines (See ExplodedText.dxf). I can edit it bit its messy after exploding.

You could use the single line CXF fonts that come with QCAD. For example Standard or GreekS_OL. You can also explode these into polylines.

You can also edit the glyphs in these fonts or create your own fonts using QCAD:
