[Solved] Scale drawing

Post by Emiel Bosch » Sun Jan 08, 2023 9:46 pm

Hello Draughtsmen, I'm trying to scale this drawing to actual size (0.765) but I can't.
The result is that I see circles after the operation. What am I doing wrong?

Thank you, Emiel

Qcad-3.27.1.0 / Windows 10 Pro

without knowing what exactly you are doing - no idea.
Please elaborate step by step what you are doing to appoche this task.Thanks.

The drawing itself looks good to me - no issues to scale it as required.

My apologies Husky, I hadn't specified the y-factor.

Emiel,

Your drawing scales fine over here.
There are no circles to scale from so I don't expect circles as outcome.
What version of QCAD are you running?

What I did:
Select > Select All (TA) (Selection = 3 Line segments + 2 Polylines)
Modify > Scale (SZ)
Indicated the Origin as focus point.
Entered 0.765 as proportional scale, opted for deleting the original and accepted the dialog.

The horizontal line is now just over 919mm.

CVH

With an empty Y factor the Polylines are reduced to 3 nodes and look like circles.
A very odd outcome that is worth investigating.
The lines are reduced to Null-entities.

IMHO scaling with an empty factor is an error and should not be preformed ...
Or it should default to factor 1.00 similar as with an error for the Paste scale.
