picking/selecting arc centre SOLVED

I am having difficulty selecting the centre of (previously created) arc when creating new geometry.
I can dodge the problem - add arc radius and then select the end point of dim line, but otherwise it's no go...
It would be good to be able to select centre without having to use tricks

Any ideas please?
