Importing DXF files from JWW

Post by andrew » Mon Oct 24, 2022 8:21 am

From a QCAD user:
How can I import DXF files exported by the JWW CAD software in QCAD? My texts are showing up as question marks.

Please note that such files are not automatically recognised. In my opinion, this is not possible in a reliable manner.

The procedure is as follows:
- File > Open
- In the file dialog select the filter "JWW DXF file, Shift-JIS encoded"
- Open the file

If you still see question marks, the font that is used might not contain Japanese glyphs (e.g. "Standard"). You can substitute the font with another one as follows:

- Edit > Substitute Fonts
- Change for example "Standard" to "Arial" or another font on your system that contains Japanese glyphs and uses Unicode.
