[SOLVED] Change color of ruler graduation

Post by margundr » Thu May 05, 2022 1:41 am

Is there a way to change the grad marks on the rulers or the rulers themselves? I've tried different themes and color options in Application Preferences but don't see a way to change this. For me, the ruler background and the color of the measurements on them is too close. I have to really squint to try and make them out.

If a Theme change doesn't helps you you could change the ruler font / font size below:

Make also sure that the Grid settings suit your needs ...
Work smart, not hard: QCad Pro
Win10/64, QcadPro, QcadCam version: Current.

what os do you use and what is the theme name that is displayed in your screen shot? Using Linux my rulers are a white background and black ruler ticks. This leads me to believe it might be possible to change the colour. Ideally, what colours would you prefer? I'll do some investigation.......actually Windows displays black on white as well, hmmm......

It might even be something that's influenced by an OS theme, if you are using one.

The ruler font size will definitely help no matter what.
As for themes and OS:
I'm using openSuse 15.3 with KDE (Breeze Dark global theme).
I just changed it to Breeze theme and the rulers display black ticks on white background (which is what I prefer).
I guess I'll have to play around with KDE themes and come to something I'm good with on both QCAD and KDE.
I never thought the desktop theme would change the rulers. Seems like that would be best controlled by QCAD (or at least have an option to override it).
Thanks for the quick help!

I thought the OS theme might be the culprit, unlikely as it seemed. Unfortunately I can't find anything to control the ruler colours vie the Qcad theme. I did find a RRULER class (https://qcad.org/doc/qcad/3.0/developer ... ruler.html) which usually means I can use it in a theme, but no matter what I tried it wouldn't play nicely.
At least you've now found a solution.

I tried various themes in Linux, non had an effect on ruler colour.

It's a known bug with that version, I believe it's been fixed for the next release.
