Hi, when I open a medium size dwg file in AutoCAD it´s running very smoothly. But when I open the same file in QCAD it´s just lagging and It´s almost impossible to work in QCAD.
Is there anything I can do to make QCAD run faster?
Thank you for any help

Hi,
To help you efficiently we need to see the particular drawing. Please attach the drawing to your post. Thanks.

Here is the drawing. When I zoom a lot it´s not lagging anymore but when I do not zoom it´s a lagging.

It is not really slowing down on my system but fact is that an intense use of hatches will slow down the rendering process. It looks like most of your 565 hatches are on layer "srafa". If you turn this layer invisible will you still experience lagging?
Edit: Additional I recommend to remove also those 177 duplicates and the 'lost" entities around the actual drawing which will reduce the file size by approx. 38.5 % ... that will help to speed things up.

Re: How do I make QCAD work faster?
Hi,
Also, have a closer look at 'GRAVEL1' hatched areas.
They look crippled and the reason is that the Hatch origin is far away from the area itself.
We know QCAD renders Hatches nicer and faster when the origin is set nearer.
Isolating Hatch entities on a dedicated layer is advised.
Locking that layer may also reduce lagging as it avoids highlighting and re-rendering.
John Hyslop issued an optimized replacement for the old and badly coded pattern 'GRAVEL' called 'GRAVEL-01'.
Based on gathered knowledge of a joint venture. It's all about angles .
