Can I create a PDF File while saving

Post by Robert Fetherlin » Wed Mar 16, 2022 1:33 pm

I only use QCAD about once or twice a year for personal use. I do not have a large format printer. How do I save my drawing to a PDF File so I can take a thumb drive down to the office store for printing?

I can cut and paste 9 pages, but that doesn't look very good. There appears to be a million formats to save your work within, but none of them appear to be a PDF File. Maybe the office store can print a file from one of those file formats?

I am using a Windows 11 laptop.

I am using the latest version of QCAD, I only purchased it about 6 months ago.

Thank you for your help

What is your goal? Print the whole drawing on one ANSI A page?
Work smart, not hard: QCad Pro
Win10/64, QcadPro, QcadCam version: Current.

I'm not sure what an ANSI page is. My drawing fits on a 2' x 3' page. It takes 9 pieces of paper to print on my home computer. I would like to be able to take it to a print shop and have it all printed on one sheet of paper.

Do most print shops have QCAD on their computers or can I convert my existing drawing into a PDF file so that someone else can print it?

I think I may have found it under Print/PDF export. Thank you. I will go down to the print shop and try it out. I was looking under File/print. Obviously it wasn't there. Thank you very much

Most likely what you see in QCAD is an Array of 9 ANSI A pages.

I don't know which software is used by that particular print shop but I'm sure that they can process ALL formats created in QCAD.
