Help

Post by pdlor » Sun Nov 08, 2020 9:58 pm

Hi All,

I am currently using AutoCad but would like to switch to this but I am wondering if you all can help me do this before I commit. Yes I have dowloaded and tried but have not been very successful in figuring it out.

Thank you in advance.

Please be more specific. What tool or procedure or which part of the drawing is the problem? Posting the same question multiple times will not improve your chance of a good answer - posting a more detailed question will.

what Im trying to do is draw exactly as shown in the attachment.

I need to be able to draw in feet and inches and continuous. I use my laser measurement tool measure the width of the house and then I want to enter it into the program and so on and so forth. I a having difficulty figuring out how to do it.

Switching to Feet and Inches:

Edit > Drawing Preferences > General > Drawing Unit:
Drawing Unit > Inch
Measurement system: Imperial

Edit > Drawing Preferences > Dimension > Dimension Settings > Label Format > Linear Dimensions:
Format: Architectural

Drawing Floorplans
I'd proceed as follows:
1. Start at the bottom left corner as reference with the line tool (Draw > Line > Line from 2 Points)
2. Click into the command line and enter relative coordinates as:
@20'8",0
@0,18'0 3/8"
@6'1 1/4",0
...
For the round part, I'd add a straight line first, then change into an arc later, e.g. creating first a parallel with 1' distance, then using Draw > Arc > 3 Points
