Nesting Part Quantities 3.24 .[SOLVED]

Post by John Hyslop » Wed Aug 05, 2020 4:45 am

QCAD/CAM 3.24.0.0 Trial Version

Hi my updates for Qcad Pro are about to end and I was thinking of
upgrading to QCAD/CAM just to have the nesting capabilities..

Question is, I see you can set quantities for a single parts
but what if I have the scenario of 50 of one part 80 of another
on the one sheet? the only thing I did notice in the trial version
is you can select the sheet then individually select all the parts
inside , this worked, but what I'm asking is would I need to individually
select 80 parts inside the sheet so the other 50 parts don't get nested
on top of them..

Hope this makes sense :-)

Looking forward to another year of updates whether it be Qcad Pro or Qcad/Cam

Cheers

If I understood it correctly ..... then yes. Let see if we are dancing on the same stage ...

Based on your explanation I created two "parts". One circle and one rectangle.
Then I told QCAD/CAM to nest the circles 50 times and the rectangles (Polylines) 80 times ... then selected the circle and the rectangle, started the nesting dialog, selected the "target sheet", started the nesting process and just waited for what QCAD/CAM nesting tool has for me ....

.... hmmm, looks good to me. What do you think?

Use my example case,

select the circle,
launch Menu / CAM / Set Nesting Quantity,
50, OK,

select rectangle,
launch Menu / CAM / Set Nesting Quantity,
80, OK,

select circle and rectangle,
launch Menu / CAM / Nesting
most important option: Quantity multiplier = 1
... rest something like this:

chose sheet etc.etc. ..... you know what to do by now
