I want to paste a bitmap into a drawing. I am using Draw | Insert Bitmap. It allows me to browse for a file; I choose a PNG file, return to the drawing, and click, but nothing pastes.

Note that the bitmap is 720 x 515 drawing units in your example, while the graphics view shows an area of about 50 x 50 drawing units. You'd have to zoom out or auto zoom to see anything or scale the bitmap down.
