Radial lines on a circle.

Post by ov10fac » Mon Mar 16, 2020 4:56 pm

I don't even know what to search for, so here goes. I want to draw a circle of a fixed diameter. Then I want to draw radial lines from the center of the circle out to the circumference, but I want the distance between each radial line at the circumference to be a fixed distance.

So in basic terms, draw a circle 4 inches in diameter. That part is easy as is the center point annotation. Then I want to draw a line from the center of the circle to the circumference and then repeat that line every 1/4 inch on the circumference.

Any thoughts appreciated.

1/4" will not add up ... e_confused
Work smart, not hard: QCad Pro
Win10/64, QcadPro, QcadCam version: Current.

I want to draw a circle of a fixed diameter
Draw..Circle..Center, Diameter (CA) and enter diameter, option middle.

Then I want to draw radial lines from the center of the circle out to the circumference
Draw..Line..Line from 2 points (LI) option line segment
Snap auto or Snap to Center (SC) and select center.
Snap auto or Snap On Entity (ST) and select the circle where you would like it.

but I want the distance between each radial line at the circumference to be a fixed distance.
If it fills the circle fully then this implements that the angle is a whole part of 360 degrees.
Draw one repeat it with Modify..Rotate multiples with that angle.

Otherwise:
Draw one
Draw..Circle..Center, Radius (CR) and enter distance, option middle.
Select as center the intersection of the firts radial with the circumference.
The two new intersections are at the wanted distance.

Yep exactly what I was looking for. As for not adding up, probably not on a 4" circle, that was just an example. I haven't done the math yet to actually find a circumference that is a multiple of 1/4.

Ok, that will work. Thanks.
