Every line tool in QCAD offers the option to create a construction line (X-Line, Infinite line) instead of a line segment:
https://qcad.org/doc/qcad/latest/refere ... e/doc/Line

Simply choose the desired line type in the options toolbar at the top when creating a line.

Auxiliary lines / constructions are typically created on a separate layer, for example one called "auxiliary".

P.S.: Please avoid ALL CAPITALS in forum titles and posts, thanks. I've adjusted your title.

Thank you for the response

I cannot locate the options that is mentioned in the link. I have searched the qcad book and no mention is made of these line options.

Almost there. Click one of the line tool (whichever is appropriate), then you'll see the options toolbar:

Thank you Andrew, I can see it!

Now I need to understand how it works...A bit different to what I have been used to in an application I used quite a while ago. (Caddie)

The important thing to realise is that construction lines are just ordinary entities in QCAD. The only thing that makes them construction lines is the fact that you know they are intended as construction lines. To visualise that, place them on a separate layer and give that layer a colour that is distinguishable from the rest of the drawing. You can also place arcs, circles, etc. on that layer. Everything that is intended as auxiliary construction.
