plotting a small section of a drawing

Post by hiqserv » Fri Jun 07, 2019 4:39 pm

Version: Windows 7
3.22.0.0 (3.22.0)
Internet:
QCAD.org
Build Date:
Mar 1 2019
Revision:
2ba5a26
Qt Version:
5.5.1
Architecture:
x86_64
Compiler:
MSVC++ 12.0 (2013)

I have a large drawing and only want to plot a small section. I tried creating a view, then plot view, but does not work. When I pull up the plot screen i can select the printer, but there is not an option to plot a view or window as in many other cad packages and Excel. only way I could find was to copy the file and delete everything except what I want to plot. I can plot the full drawing ok.

Hope you can help, so far this has been a great experience, once I got used to finding the commands and how they work. Thanks!

Please refer to our printing tutorial at:
https://qcad.org/en/tutorial-printing
You can adjust the scale / position to print any section of the drawing you want.

A more advanced option would be using layouts and viewports:
https://www.qcad.org/en/tutorial-workin ... -viewports
