How to draw a line a specific distance along another line.

Want to draw a line that starts at 3" along an existing line. What are the commands to locate the 3" point on the existing line?

You can use the "Parallel" (below Menu/Draw/Line) or the "Offset" (below Menu/ Modify) tool - depends on what you need regarding your drawing.

To snap to a point with a given distance along a line (or other entity), you can use the snap tool Snap > Distance.
