I have the latest version of qcad using windows 11
I am looking to move an entity, either line or circle, by using x y coordinates.
I am previously trained in Cadkey and this function was in the menu.
Sometimes after making a part drawing I find it necessary to move existing entities slightly to complete the rendering so that I can make the part in laser.
Is there an easy way to do this?

Re: Move entities by coordinates
You can use the Command line

or the GUI icon for Coordinates ...

Work smart, not hard: QCad Pro
Win10/64, QcadPro, QcadCam version: Current.

Re: Move entities by coordinates
So if I select the entity, can I enter the coordinates in inches x & y?
Re: Move entities by coordinates
To move an entity or a selection of entities you use the translate tool:
Menu Modify .. Move/Copy (MV)
QCAD now requires a source reference, any free position, any reference point of, any snap-point on the entity/ies will do.
After that QCAD requires a target point by cursor, by absolute or relative coordinate input on the Command Line.
The default mode of MV is by Dialog ...
Something similar can be achieved without using MV :
- Make a selection.
- Indicate on the intended entity and near a certain reference marker but avoid to point on the marker.
- Click and shortly hold the left mouse button while dragging it a bit.
> The selection will now stick to your cursor with the nearest reference point.
- Provide in a new target point by cursor, by absolute or relative coordinate input on the Command Line.
