Moments of Inertia and Position of the Center of Gravity

Post by Ingallpeter » Wed Mar 22, 2023 4:26 pm

Hi, is there any direct way to calculate Moments of Inertia and Position of the Center of Gravity?

As of today I broque the shape, calculate with Qcad surfaces and make traditional calculation.

Yes to the second, see menu Misc .. Information .. 2D Centroids .. Area Centroids.
QCAD Pro only.
They also support the third dimension and specific weight what results in mass.
And once you have those, inertia should be feasible and most likely straightforward.

There is also a tool for easily combining several 2D Centroids weighted for all properties.

If you have any usage question then report back or PM me.
