Fonts Missing some Characters

Post by BarryW » Sun Jul 23, 2017 11:36 pm

Hi Everybody,
[Windows10, Qcad 3.17.3,pro]

Is there a way of showing squared ie ² in the RomanS2 Font.
It shows correctly in the editor, using Alt 0178, but not in the drawing.

Thanks for any ideas,
Barry.

No - if the character isn't in that font then you can't show it in that font ...

... but you can mix the fonts in the editor.

I used here the RomanS2 font for the main text and Standard for ²

Practical? I don't think so ...
Work smart, not hard: QCad Pro
Win10/64, QcadPro, QcadCam version: Current.

Hi Husky,

If I was creating a new drawing, then that is a reasonable work-around.
However, I am slowly converting a few hundred wiring diagrams ex-Autosketch/Drafix, which means I need to scan every text entry for ², groan.
Thanks for the idea, though.
Seems a bit wrong to show correctly in the editor but not on the drawing,
How do you know what characters are in the .cxf fonts ?

Best wishes,
Barry

I'm wondering why this font was working in Autosketch/Drafix - same Font Name should provide the same Characters ... e_confused

However - what's about to change the font for the whole drawing in QCAD to a similar font with the QCAD tool below Menu / Edit / Substitute Fonts?

Husky,
A variety of truetype fonts had been used on the Autosketch drawings. After conversion, I took advantage of the 'Substitute Fonts' command to change everything to a vector font. My choice was RomanS2. Just a pity the font is missing a few characters...
