Depending on the object, there are several ways how you can identify its center.

For circles, arcs, ellipses:
The default auto snap find centers of these entities if you move the mouse cursor close to the center. Selecting the entity in question can be helpful to visually show its center point and snap to it. You can also snap to the center by choosing Snap > Center explicitly and then clicking the entity.

For other shapes:
Other shapes (rectangles, polygons, etc.) do not have a center reference point to snap to. Such geometries might not even be single entities but consist of multiple loosely connected entities. To identify the center of such a geometry, you can often use Snap > Middle Manual:

- Snap > Middle Manual
- Click one corner or side of the shape
- Click the other corner or side of the shape

To snap to the center of the bounding box of any arbitrary combination of entities, you can select those entities and then snap to the center of the selection using Snap > Center of Selection.

If you need to copy or move a selection, using its center as reference point, you can simply use Edit > Copy. The center of the selection is the default reference point when using copy or cut.
