Linux OS and Windows OS Themes

Post by petevick » Sat Jan 16, 2021 10:06 am

These themes will display correctly in Linux and Windows only, MacOS has serious issues with them which renders it useless.

All new themes and updates will be posted as attachments in this post only.

Please feel free to adapt the themes to suit your own OS's theme should you so wish. Also let me know if you want a particular theme colour replicated and I'll see what I can do. Also, please let me know if you find any anomalies with the themes, a screenshot would help with debugging.

To use any of these themes, extract the folder from the required zip file and place into QCAD's theme folder. After starting or restarting QCAD, go to Edit>Application Preferences>General>Theme anTotal No of downloads d select the new theme from the drop down box. Press the OK button, close down and restart QCAD, the new theme should be displayed. To install any updated theme, again, extract the folder from the required zip file and place into QCAD's theme folder replacing the existing folder.

Windows 7 is no longer supported by Microsoft, and some themes may display unpredictably. There should be no issues in Windows 10

Pink Champagne theme added, suggested by John Hyslop originally as just Pink but then toned it down by adding some Champagne!

** Coffee, Cyan, Dark Grey, Forest, Heather, Light Grey, Pastel and Pink Champagne
all updated to fix shifting text in menu lists, mainly in WindowsOS and/or Qcad CAM **

I'd like to publicly thank John Hyslop for the tremendous help he's been in sorting out these glitches, particularly with WindowsOS and Qcad Cam, neither of which I have. He's supplied me with numerous screen shots in an effort to track problems down, which considering the time difference between us, UK for me and Australia for John, has been no mean feat. I'm not new to pure css code, but these themes throw in QT stuff as well, so it's been a steep learning curve, and I'm still learning!!
Thanks again John :D

Also please post on here if you find any anomalies with the themes, a screenshot would be really help with debugging

All themes have been updated !! The majority of the updates include....
  • a circular icon when hovering over a radio button, this includes a folder named icons to each theme folder.
  • the main menu bar hover background and font colours fixed
  • a fix for Version and Units text background display in FlexPainter dialog.

This is a stable update release for Linux and Windows 10.

It seems FlexPainter, and now Tile2Hatch, display perfectly fine in QCAD running on Win 7.
FP & T2H Win7.png
FP & T2H Win7.png (27.09 KiB) Viewed 15978 times
Simply because they are designed using my only hardware and my only software setup.

FlexPainter & Tile2Hatch are built against the 'Default' mode of QCAD3.
On a Windows 7 PC with QCAD PRO installed by the win installer.
Both use common Qt palette settings and Enable/Disable states.
Some usage goes beyond what is commonly done in QCAD.

Then again, there are several hundreds of properties for every kind of QWidgets.
Sorry for your trouble.
Regards,
CVH

I think there maybe a bug Qcad/CAM. I spotted the problem when a user sent me a screenshot of a theme he'd made. In this first image, you can see the West tabs are facing the wrong way, this is in Linux...
_West-Tabs linux.png
_West-Tabs linux.png (20.05 KiB) Viewed 13031 times
In Windows QCAD/CAM they display correctly.....
Win10-West.jpg
Win10-West.jpg (26.75 KiB) Viewed 13031 times
I sent the user javascripts that move the tabs East/West/North/South, the following is Linux QCAD/CAM with East tabs, same problem....
_East-Tabs Linux.png
_East-Tabs Linux.png (16.93 KiB) Viewed 13031 times
and again, Windows QCAD/CAM East tabs display correctly....
Win10-East.jpg

I've tried the same stylesheet in my Linux install of Qcad and it displays correctly.

The North/South tabs in Linux QCAD/CAM display correctly.
All the tabs in the Dark and Default themes in QCAD/CAM display correctly.

So it would appear that the problem is with Linux QCAD/CAM, East and West tabs with external stylesheets.

Also attached is the version details of QCAD/CAM tha the user has installed.
