Re: QCAD 3.4.5
Thanks Husky, it's of course QCAD, not RibbonSoft (since version 3.1).

Re: QCAD 3.4.5
I just tried to reproduce this problem here without any success. Uninstalling QCAD does not remove the configuration file here.
Can you briefly confirm that this is something that actually happened - or did you just assume / fear that uninstalling probably would reset your configuration? Thanks.

Re: QCAD 3.4.5
Yes, there is a reason: overwriting a previous version with a new one leads to a 'mix' of two versions, creating some serious problems (QCAD would not start anymore, crash, etc). I wasn't aware that an uninstall removes your configuration file. That should not be the case and I will look into that. ...

Re: exec
please , is there an example script to use with the -exec switch ? You can launch any of the scripts (those which represent tools) provided with QCAD with the -exec switch. For example to immediately start drawing lines: ./qcad -exec scripts/Draw/Line/Line2P/Line2P.js Or to show the file open dialo...

Wo sonst soll man...

Re: How do i close a file and switch to command mode
1)I would like to be able to close the current file/drawing using a keyboard shortcut. Control W is shown on the drop down menu, but if I press control W, nothing happens. I note that if I run it from a bash terminal , it says 'Warning: QAction::eventFilter: Ambiguous shortcut overload: Ctrl+W". Do...

Re: Purge unused ...
It seems also to be important to purge first the blocks and then the layers. That makes sense though, doesn't it? Those unused blocks may still be using some unused layers (which makes those layers used at that moment). Layers, however, are an independent concept. An unused layer does not depend on...

Re: crash when opening file
Since I haven't heard back from you, I don't know if this is related to your specific problem: A problem in connection to block recursions has been fixed in the latest QCAD version (3.4.5). If this update solves your issue, it was likely related to blocks containing references to themselves (recursi...

Re: How to open in new window?
No, this is not supported by QCAD. This is an intended design choice. As you might have noticed, you cannot run more than one instance of the QCAD application at once either. You can override this behavior by passing the command line argument -allow-multiple-instances. However, this is not recommend...

Re: shortcut
Yes, the explanation lies in the fact that the parallel tool, the concentric circle tool and the concentric arc tool are all one and the same tool, available in different contexts.

This is likely also caused by showing warnings as dialogs.Husky wrote:... and trouble to use the library items.

Please disable the warnings as dialogs option in the application preferences > command line for now.Husky wrote:"Grounded 0 recursive block references in blocks:"
After confirming the warning window I can work as usual on my drawings.
