Line length confusion [Solved - sorta]
Good day. I am having some difficulty in understanding lengths of entities/lines. I attach a video and a .dxf file. Top Original is based on first drawing a polyline rectangle (not shown) and then breaking up bits and then adding line segments. This is a wierd answer for line length. Middle is based...

Re: QCAD Pro Precision
Tried it again and no, that alters the Status Bar and the dimensions representation like explained. None to maxed out both (App & Drawing), I always get 6 decimal digits in the Property Editor. Regards, CVH Very good morning CVH. I managed to get 8 places in property Editor, however, some propertie...

Free42/DM42
Just as a matter of interest, there is a really nice free calculator designed by a Thomas Okken called FREE42. It is an excellent replica of the HP42S (no longer available). Free42 is available on PC/Android and other platforms. It's a free (as in free beer) utility with great abilities. There are e...

Re: Rotating an object when I don't know the exact angle to rotate
How long have I been using Qcad?? and I didn't know that. Every day's a learning day. Cheers Husky  Between yourself, Andrew, CVH, Mr H, Ryan and everybody else.... the "QCAD" flexibility seems endless. I must admit (albeit slightly off topic)... every time I see updates I say to myself "fina...

Undo/Redo observation
When first started QCAD Edit menu has Undo [-] and Redo [-] Draw a circle then it changes to "Undo [circle type" -- ("Undo [Center, Radius" being example) Draw a Rectangle then the Undo menu selection does not change but stays "Undo [Center, Radius". Likewise for the Redo menu option. All works as i...

Ryan - thank you. You are correct, not really where I wanted to go and way over my head  . However, your time is most appreciated. CVH - Now the lightbulb is on! I see what you mean about the box. I just never took the stretch tool to the outer limits. Husky - you need to box up all tho...

Re: selective layers constraint when scaling
Yeah, I saw that, - working on motorcycle and trying to conjure correct words and an example are 3 things... being male, it's obvious I'm not capable of chewing gum and walking simultaneously :) I'll persevere... I think I'll be forced to make several windows/blocks, each of different sizes. Sorta n...

Re: selective layers constraint when scaling
Many thanks guys... but I think we're at an impasse. Unless there's a completely different train of thought. I am specifically wanting to "lock" a specific layer dimensions and keep ratio of position with an adjustable (scalable/moveable) entity. Attached should be clearer? I want to keep the red bi...

Re: selective layers constraint when scaling
Thank you. I think that might not be what I'm asking, but I'll try. I'm trying to constrain any stretching on certain layers/entities in a block/layer. However, I'm off the the drawing to play with that now. Nope..

[Answered/Solved] Selective layers constraint when scaling
Hello again. I hope I can ask this correctly. I want to create a "template" window block. However, windows do change dimension, normally the frame remaining a fixed dimension. Is there a way to re-dimension a entity/block but keep certain entities in that layer/block constrained to the dimensions it...

Re: How to move point of line or shape?
There are 2 little things you should play with.
1) Left click and hold ON the point and then drag [that point]
2) Left click and hold on entity near a point and then drag.
2 distinct actions. Play with lines, polylines, circles, ellipses, blocks, dimensions.... play....
