Re: How do I change the default template directory?
 Just typing this for the second time due to timeout-driven logouts  I`m no expert but I think this would need a bit of 'java script' tweaking for this. Hmmm... I'm no js expert either, but made my living programming in all sorts of languages and scripts in the past. So: I'll look into t...

Auto zoom is too active
The Auto Zoom feature when opening a new drawing is useful, no doubt about it (although I can imagine situations where it is not so handy). But auto zoom every time you go back and forth between editing a block and the main drawing is... uhmm... utterly irritating (I wanted to say something else). I...

How do I change the default template directory?
When I start a drawing with "Create New Drawing from Template", the template browser always points to C:/Program Files/QCad/libraries/templates I have added my own directory ( D:\My documents\CAD\CAD libraries\templates ) in the "Application Preferences - Load/Save - Templates" and while that one is...

Re: Grid unusable at some zoomlevels
Spot on :) Edit - Application Preferences - Graphics View - Minimal Grid Spacing (px) Hmmm... I've been playing around with these settings but cannot see any difference between 5, 1, or even 50 pixels; not even after restarting the program. And it still takes 13 clicks to change them. I may be doin...

Grid unusable at some zoomlevels
With the grid set on 'Auto', it takes thirteen (!) steps of zoom (either in or out) for the dots to change, while at the eighth step the grid already lost its usefullness. Can this not be parameterized? Like specifying the number of zoom steps it takes for the grid to change? Or a minimum and maximu...

Re: Divide a circle
With Qcad 2.2, I would use the polygon line tool to insert a polygon with the required number and starting angle inside the circle, then use the break out segment tool (with 'remove segment' unchecked!) or the scissors tool to do the dividing. Remove the polygon afterwards (which is easier if placed...

Re: fine and replace text
Maybe put the 'variable' text into a block?
That way you just change the content of the block, and hey presto...

Thanks! It works, although I am not entirely shure why: I thought I already tried something along those lines earlier. Probably forgot a comma or something silly like that... Oh well, it should all be solved in a couple of weeks with v3. That is, unless the date mentioned in http://www.ribbonsoft.co...

library browser shows not all directories
Hi. Running 2.2.2.0 Pro on Windows 2kPro. I was trying to arrange my own blocks into a more comprehensible structure (a.k.a. Library). Up till now, I just copied the blocks from one drawing into another... After all shuffeling was done I restarted Qcad to point it to the new structure (edit - progra...

Re: QCAD Prof V2.2.2.0, WindowsXP. Library Browser insert pr
.... When inserting a block (drawing) using the Library Browser, the layer properties (Color, Width, Line type) of the inserted block are temporarily override by the layer properties of the layer in which the block is inserted. To get the inserted block layer properties restored, I have to do a dum...

Alas, that did not clarify it for me: In the main drawing I have only a few points and two inserts of a center line marker on layer 0; everything else, including other block inserts, is on other layers (according to the property editor). Inside the blocks there are no entities on layer 0 (at least, ...

I know it sounds a bit weird (when done right, it looks great though). What I some times need is a way to hatch two adjacent shapes with the same pattern, while the hatch lines do not continue from one shape to the next. Even when I hatch these two shapes separately, it still looks like the hatch is...

how do I create offset hatches
In cross sections where the section plane is folded, it is some times necessary to indicate the location of this fold line by shifting the hatch pattern by half the pitch on either side (standard NEN-ISO-128-40). How do I do that in QCAD 2.2.2.0 Professional, short of drawing every single line of th...
