Hi John,
No problem, I was just puzzled the first time, I could not locate my test pattern, until I scrolled down to the bottom of the QCAD list. Don't bother changing, as you said, that is a good method to keep them separate.

Re: Free Stand Alone Basic Hatch Pattern Tool *Full Version*
Hi John,
Just played a bit with your hatch tool. very nice work indeed.
Just a comment: the name given to the pattern is case sensitive, ie. 'name.pat' and 'NAME.PAT' don't end up in the same order in the pattern list. I believe that this is likely a QCAD feature.

Re: Problème d'impression
Bonsoir,
Votre plan s'imprime correctement ici sur un A4.
Attention aux épaisseurs de lignes par défaut, surtout pour un dessin de cette taille. Le "défaut" est réglé à 0.35, souvent je mets un peu plus.

Re: Long distance between cursor and object
Opening EXplosion.dxf and moving the block reference in Model Space closer to the absolute zero point should fix the issue. This is expected behaviour and allows the designer to control the location of the reference point when inserting the item. This is what I did... What QCAD Version you are on? ...

Re: Long distance between cursor and object
I still cannot find anything wrong.
I repositionned the block to 0,0 then used 'block, create library item' and the block inserts correctly. How did you proceed to obtain the strange behavior?

Welcome to the forum, you'll find plenty of people willing to help with your questions.
It is quite easy to get started if you have some background in design, which it seems you do.

Re: Long distance between cursor and object
When I pick your block to insert it in a blank page, it does follow the mouse cursor when you defined it, looks OK to me ?

Hi Nick,
Your kayaks are very tempting, especially since I live near Marseille, and the bay is quite nice for those boats!

Re: Teaching QCAD
I think there is something almost therapeutic about slowing down and taking your time to create something by hand. Can't agree with you more! Same goes for machining, one ought to build a part with a conventional lathe or milling machine before going digital, you have to get a feel of the material ...

Re: Teaching QCAD
Students to-day do not how lucky they are. I learned drafting with a wood board, a T and a couple squares, and yet I enjoyed it. It was quite rewarding to produce a nice looking drawing with just pencils or china ink. In addition to learning the technicalities of mechanical engineering, you also lea...
