Re: QCAD library folders
Can't help you any further, I am a Win user. In this topic: https://www.qcad.org/rsforum/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=9508&p=38367#p38367 we read that /Applications/QCAD-Pro.app/Contents/Resources/scripts/DuplicateLayoutBlock is a valid script folder on a MAC. The 'scripts' folder is on the same level as th...

Re: Draw Viewport
On that way the student can pick a way what works best for him/her. I agree with that changing menu orders won't change how students are able to memorize things. But I see other hurdles. There are no Block commands in the CAD Toolbar except BC. The majority of Draw commands is listed there except V...

Re: Draw Viewport
Perhaps there is an even better place? Agreed, initially I had issues in locating it in the menu bar. I expected this in relation to Layouts and thus Blocks. Like you I simply used 'VT' and it took a mind twist to differentiate Blocks from Layout Blocks. For me all Blocks have a 'paper mode'...

Re: Dimensions Not Adding Up
Can it be that your grid is 1/8 inch (dots) and your meta grid is 1/2 inch (lines+dots)? Then 1 3/8 would be 11 grid-points. The 1 5/16 is only just over 10 grid-points but not halfway 10 and 11 grid-points. From the screenshot it seems that the middle 1/4 part is narrower than both the outer 1/4 pa...

Re: Draw Viewport
I've always found 'VT' an odd one out. We don't actually draw something and there is no reference in Model_space ... And of course, we do add something in the sense of adding a text or an image and not like we are going to draw a text. Ring is just a kind of Polyline for me. A special one I a...

Your welcome, glad to be of any assistance. Next time you see me post something, give it a little less priority! Upcoming postings are treated with the same interest. the .JS file is crazy! How do you do that? All open source methods of QCAD can be found here: https://github.com/qcad/qcad Mor...

Re: turn finite or bound geometry to infinite or unbound geometry
The problem in setting the Sweep Angle to 360 degrees is that there will be start/end angles over 360 degrees. When we reload such files some full circular Arcs may have a Sweep Angle of 0 degrees. They look OK but when selecting they are not displayed. Some third-party Apps can not handle these. fu...
Re: Layers
I'm thinking if I can join all the layers into one it might work correctly. Probably not, I think you need to reverse the orientation of those two problematic geometries. For CW the right side is the interior side. And that is the exterior for CCW. Most CAM will figure out interior/ex...

Re: turn finite or bound geometry to infinite or unbound geometry
to find all horizontal direction repeat with similar Filter, change Comparison to "not equal to" 0, click "Add to current Selection" That would add all Line segments with an angle not zero to my selection. :? Meaning all from 0 to 360 degrees excluding zero itself but those were already selected in...

Re: turn finite or bound geometry to infinite or unbound geometry
Hi, It would not be that hard to alter this: https://www.qcad.org/rsforum/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=8193&p=32244#p32244 so it acts on Line segments or on arc's. There is even an easy way back from an XLine or a Ray to a Line segment. For your use the question still remains what Line segment as XLi...

Re: Layers
Mike, The reason for Husky's question is the common purpose of layers. They are meant to group things that should look alike. Refer to: https://www.ribbonsoft.com/en/tutorial-working-with-layers On the other hand Blocks are intended to group things that belong to the same geometry. And that can incl...

Re: turn finite or bound geometry to infinite or unbound geometry
Hi, May I ask why? Isn't it much easier to use XLines, Circles and so on to start with? A script could be an answer for Lines, Arcs, Ellipse arcs, single segment Polylines and there it would end. I don't see a way for an infinite Polyline or Spline. Should that consider a selection or all displayed ...

Re: QCAD library folders
The path Applications/QDAD-Pro.app, stops there because QCAD-Pro.app is the application file, not a folder. I think that this is based on a misinterpretation, there are definitely sub folders of 'Applications/QCAD-Pro.app/...' It may be that MACOS guards them of or that the Finder has some p...
