Re: User Template Border HOwTo

I was just replying to a comment that Clive made, but I'm open. It's 100% OK if you or anyone else wants to educate me.

Thanks.

Re: User Template Border HOwTo

Usually all borders and title blocks would be kept within the same drawing file, the latest QCAD versions now have added paper space layouts intended for laying out the final drawings, a place if you like away from the normal drawing area (model space) where you can scale drawings and finalize the ...

Re: Regexes in selection filter

That makes sense. You don't have to convince me of the usefulness of regular expressions (as I come from a *nix background).

Thanks.

Re: Regexes in selection filter

So does that mean it can only be "trusted" to be accurate on non-formatted text? I assumed (?) by changing to the standard (non-TrueType) font it wouldn't have any formatting information. How do we make it work against only the actual textual part of a text label? By the way, I'm just curious, not c...

Regexes in selection filter

I was reading this topic: https://www.qcad.org/rsforum/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=5360#p19963 where Andrew demonstrated selective selection with the selection filter and a simple regex: "[A-Z]+[0-9]+" (no quotes used in QCAD). I'm not getting the same results, though. I tried it on an existing drawing and...

Re: Hatches are incorrect when loading DWGs (not being saved?)

I was still getting one segment that was wrong and caused the hatch not to save. I exploded everything, created polylines one letter at time, rehatched and it saved/reloaded properly.

Thanks.

Re: Hatches are incorrect when loading DWGs (not being saved?)

I hear you, but logically if two endpoints snap together, "together" should imply the same exact coordinates regardless of scale, or anything else for that matter. I realize in a a programming context, 'exact' is rarely exact (floating point imprecision and all that), but... I don't know how Andrew ...

Re: Hatches are incorrect when loading DWGs (not being saved?)

I'll take a look. What's strange is that when I created the logo, all the endpoints were snapped to each other. That's why I didn't suspect that as the cause (and also that it does hatch successfully, it just won't save).

Oh well...

Thanks.

Hatches are incorrect when loading DWGs (not being saved?)

QCAD Pro 3.19.2, Xubuntu Linux 64-bit I made up a simple little title block with the CE and saved it as a DXF. It includes the QCAD logo, where QCAD.org is constructed from hatched (solid fill) geometry rather than simple lines. I later added a projection symbol with QCAD Pro (that edit has nothing ...

Re: Dimensioning: Changing lineweight and text independently from each other

Husky, you were right regarding the font choice. I changed the dimension label font to Arial, and now the text thickness doesn't change with the lineweight of the layer. Problem solved, although I'd love to hear from Andrew, how the font choice influences the appearance of the dimension label. The ...

Offline copy of reference manual?

This is a question, but if it's not available then it's a suggestion. Is the user reference manual available as a PDF or some other flat offline format? Having it as a compiled help file available from QCAD itself is great, but it would be very handy (to me at least) in a complementary sense ...

Text escape sequences not working - What am I missing?

QCAD Pro 3.19.2 on Linux I'm reading / working through the QCAD book and tried some text sequences. When I insert them with the property editor or dimension dialog fields, they work. However, if I try to put them in a text block or add them to a dimension after the fact, they're treated literally. F...

Re: Suggestion: Make command prompts visible for all items

Maybe it's a default color instead... If so I guess (?) we would need to know the proper selector name to specifically assign a color. But I'm no CSS expert.
