changing/modifying dimension

macOS 10.14.6 QCAD Pro 3.23.0.0 How can I - once a measure has been placed - change its position afterwards? E.g. in the screenshot below I would like to move the right (selected) 17,7 mm to the other side of the line and would like to make the other 17,7 measure a bit shorter so that both measures ...

Re: QCad changed a dimension figure unasked

I had a drawing (imported DXF) and added some dimensions. The I selected the whole artwork, copied it and pasted into a newly opened drawing. Suddenly a measure had changed from 18 (mm) to 17.6918. Question: If you use the "Paste" tool what is the chosen scale in the option bar? I remarked on that ...

[solved] QCad changed a dimension figure unasked

I had a drawing (imported DXF) and added some dimensions. The I selected the whole artwork, copied it and pasted into a newly opened drawing. Suddenly a measure had changed from 18 (mm) to 17.6918. Does Qcad recalculate dimensions on its own? In another thread (Community Edition) I remarked on that ...

Adjusting Dimension properties accordingly to one's needs

macOS 10.14
Qcad Pro 3.23.0.0

I just bought QCAD Pro to get the advantage of (hopefully) being able to have an ISO font for dimensions and make the dimonesion arrows and lines look more convenient.

Is there a way to leave a gap in a dimension line to put the figure there?

Developer forum (Linux), is there any?

Hi, I was trying to compile Qcad from sources under Ubuntu. Was following some HowTo on these pages but I'm stuck at the moment because compilation stops with some error.

Is there a developer forum where one can discuss the issue?

Changing font face of Dimensions

How can I change the font face of the dimension (measure) to something like ISO norm?
I can change the font of normal Text drawing but I see no way to change that for the measures.

How to produce better results in DXF exchange?

I found that Qcad sometimes changes coordinates or lengths slightly. E.g. when join a line with an arc endpoint, it happens, that when I later import the DXF to Blender, that there is a gap between the arc endpoint and the line (healing required). Also line lengths or angles begin to change during w...

Re: Drawing contains some invisible "smudge"

Strange. I didn't see it on the screen(see screenshot) Did a "SAVE" before uploading.
Maybe an icloud/cache issue? Gotta get rid of that iCloud drive.

Sorry for the confusion.

This little line segment in the circle doesn't belong there. Could it be in another layer?
It's impossible for us to answer that question without the dxf. Please attache the drawing to the post. Thanks.
I thought so :) Will try to attach it here.

Drawing contains some invisible "smudge"

I have imported a drawing from Qcad into Blender and in one place a little line appears that definitely does not appear in the Qcad drawing. In this particular situation you can use the "Center of Selection" snap. In other situation the "Middle Manual" snap will provide the solution.
Thanks. Found it in the drop down menu (SK). Does not appear in the left icon bar.

Re: one-click erase (ER)

Thanks. That's what I ended up with (I'm on macOS). SHIFT-Click protocol works there as well (of course).

I want to put a drill hole (small circle) in the midpoint of a rectangle (formed of 4 separate surrounding lines). How can I adjust the snap mode such that the cursor snaps to the midpoint of the (green marked) area?

revealing "smudge"

Sometimes I find residues like very short lines or white spots which can be selected.
Is there a way to clean up a drawing by an appropriate filter, e.g. display only lines that are shorter than a certain amount or so?
Or some kind of "plausability filter". Apply AI to a drawing :)

Measuring distance between parallel lines

When I'm trying to draw dimension in Layer 0 (is it the correct layer?) I don't seem to get arrows at the end of the dionesion lines and the dimension text is very tiny and written in the line width of that layer. Either I misadjusted some parameters in a dialog or I'm doing wrong something else. Co...
