Block creation problem/anomaly
Before I make a bug report, 1st) Thanks Andrew for 3.24. Always great to see QCAD being actively maintained. Thanks for addressing the block hatch issue. I am working with some blocks and I am probably doing it all wrong, but there seems to be yet another issue: please see attached. I highlight 2 pr...

Block hatch question
My question is about hatch on a block. I create Block 1 as shown with reference as shown. I then create a hatch on that block. The hatch is placed with it's relative reference point at absolute 0,0. Is this correct? I had expected the block to be hatched. Oh, and Property Painter looks great. Thanks...

Re: Block edit in place
Hi Jim. I sorta understand your question. You can edit the block when you select the block (in the block list) and click on the pencil. This opens a separate window that has the block in it's individual pieces. If you wish to modify a block in the "main" view (model space) then you must select one o...

Re: Not sure about which is the general intent of the symbol effect for sub layer
Hi. Again, on a parallel, should a sub layer happen to be locked and the parent layer be collapsed (so that locked sub layer not seen in the layers panel) then can some indication that one or more sub layers are locked be shown in the parent layer? Like wise recursively if sub layers under sub layer...

Re: Circle becomes Polyline - when does it happen?
Hi. I guess you can't convert a poly back to a circle, but to find the center point, you could use Menu/Misc/Draw/Centerline (as described in a post recently). OR, you could select the circular poly and draw another circle (on a separate layer) based on 2 opposite points, then delete the original an...

Re: cannot find disruptions of outer contour
@Krischu Sorry, I use hatch to use as a tool to determine unclosed polys. I looked, read the screen, and determined the coordinates of the unclosed poly (in this particular case). I then moved one of the unclosed points to the intersection of the other point - then they worked. Which point to move i...

Re: cannot find disruptions of outer contour
Your error is highlighted me thinks But I can not see any discontinuity when I zoom in. How did you discover it? Or is yours the corrected version? 44.98 vs. 45 for the Y-Coordinate? Sorry for delay... yes, my version is corrected. I hunted. I tried hatch and found the unmatched coordinates. It was...

Re: Trim question
Thanks Husky. Absolutely sensible now that you have explained. I have made the same type of drawing issue, but taken the long road... now I have the shortcut.

Re: Trim question
@Husky... why would you not want to have the Remove Segment checkbox ticked? What is the purpose of not removing the segment? (And I'd never noticed that checkbox until you mentioned it).

Re: Command line no longer available
Hi wjhall. I've never experienced your particular issue with QCAD, however, I have had instances where the spacebar has failed on the keyboard (remember, it's probably the most used button on the keyboard. Can I first suggest swapping the keyboard out? Best

Re: Overlays
All makes sense now - there are too many smart hidden gems under the hood. Yes, the background is white - thus the switch does what it says. Refreshing the view as you assert is how to redraw the items. Not sure on the colour transparency (as I mentioned in the startpoint item)... looks like the "re...

Re: Overlays
Overlays might be useful (order certainly). However, there's some quirks: Order- change text colour doesn't work well. Change background to blue and the text colour is white (preferences) and the text remains black. Change text colour to cyan and it is now cyan - change from cyan to white and it is ...
