Re: Shortcut key to close print preview?

Ctrl+Q quits QCAD, but Ctrl+Shift+P does in fact toggle Print Preview, not just activate it.

Thanks.

Shortcut key to close print preview?

Is there a way to close Print Preview with the keyboard? I haven't found one, but I may be overlooking it. If it doesn't conflict with something else, Esc would be nice.

QCAD 3.21.3.0 on Xubuntu 16.04, 64-bit, if it matters

Thanks.

Re: Status bar visibility

I agree - A smaller status bar option would be nice in some circumstances

Re: QCAD crashes on save

0xc0000005 is an access violation, which could have multiple root causes (null pointer, etc., but I suspect Andrew would never leave a null pointer hanging  ). I've seen where resetting the pagefile has fixed similar issues when physical memory was low, apps were swapping a lot and the pagefile...

Re: New look to website?

When viewing the site in English, the reference manual link points to the German version: https://www.qcad.org/doc/qcad/latest/reference/de/ All the other links appear to point to the 'en' locale.

However all in all it seems to be clear and well laid-out.

Re: Line weight is too heavy in paper space print preview

Will I be embarrassed when Husky points out some simple setting I overlooked (probably!). Nope - you can plea "Not guilty". You stepped in the same "trap" like me. It's a bug in QCAD and fixed for the next release. https://www.qcad.org/en/changelog Whew! Dodged a bullet... So...

Line weight is too heavy in paper space print preview

I'm probably missing something, but this very same file was OK last time I opened it. I have a drawing (Site layout.dwg) with a viewport, title block, etc., and last time I printed, it was fine. Now when I open Print Preview in Paper Space (only) the lineweights are off the scale: http://page...

Re: creating a shortcut in Linux Mint for qcad

MATE is a Gnome derivative, right? If so, you'll need to use Alacarte, MenuLibre or another menu editor to get it into the menus. It's been a while since I used MATE, so I can't remember if there's a 'start button' (sorry!) right-click shortcut to it nor not. On the desktop, I believe you can right-...

Re: how do I draw tapering latitudinal lines on a globe ?

As a QCAD newbie, I hesitate to even ask and possibly add to the confusion, but... solo, are you referring to arcs whose thickness tapers off toward each end, as if they recede into the distance? In other words, where nearest to the eye, the arc appears X units thick but tapers to a fraction of X be...

Re: User Template Border HOwTo

Yep, I figured out 1 through 6. And you understood correctly what I was asking: If I move entities in model space and they're also in a viewport in paper space, they'll move there, too (just the geometry, not the viewport). So there's no way to 'anchor' them to a viewport in paper space while allowi...

Re: User Template Border HOwTo

I don't know what I (thought I) saw last night, but scaling within a viewport works exactly right (i.e., 'zoom' changes don't affect real dimensions). I obviously misread something in my haste. One other question: Is it possible to lock geometry in respect to a viewport (or vice-versa, as the case m...

Re: User Template Border HOwTo

Good suggestions, and if I were planning on using it in the future I'd definitely do something like that. (famous last words!) At some point, I'll create some templates, but right now I'm learning. This was a POC. I'll have to take a closer look, but I think (?) there are some details about s...

Here you go... To save time, I just grabbed a few blocks I had downloaded long ago (but I drew the title block myself a few weeks ago!).

Re: User Template Border HOwTo

That's exactly what I was thinking of -- A viewport (or viewports) in paper space through which an appropriately-scaled view (or views) of the drawing is seen, for printing/plotting. All the pieces exist at the same scale in model space but can be organized into specific layouts in paper space, at t...
