Re: Scale Command: Is There A Problem?
And nothing happens. But it asks for a Focus Point over and over. Selecting a point does nothing and the program gets stuck there. I have to Save the file and Close it to regain control. I can reproduce this problem if the scale factor that is entered is invalid (e.g. "dummy" instead of a valid num...

Ahh, true. I guess it must be off screen then sorry. I’d go with the reset.

Re: Line tool option box does not open
Thanks. The options toolbar is also visible here at the bottom (see red rectangle). As soon as you start the line tool it should expand in size and show you the line tool options. If that is not the case, please include a screenshot while the line tool is active.

Re: Line tool option box does not open
This called the "options toolbar", a special and really important toolbar that shows the options for the current tool. I guess it's also there on your other system but probably too small to show any options. A screenshot of your other system where things are not working as expected would be most hel...

Re: Blocks, Library, Edit Block, Edit Block In Place
Please attach your library item file "_EPAParts\SchematicSymbols\Batt3-Volt-500.dxf" (or similar).
This is the only file that contains the grid settings for that item and the file that would help us determine what is happening.

Re: Line tool option box does not open
What is your understanding of the "line tool option box"? What options do you expect from this? Can you please post a screenshot of QCAD while using the line tool? It's possible that you are referring to the options toolbar. This is automatically shown but you might have rearranged your toolbars in ...

Re: Blocks, Library, Edit Block, Edit Block In Place
You can simply edit the library files one by one and add the required attributes. Procedure: - Find the item you want to edit in the part library - Right-click on the item and choose Edit... (alternatively, drag the item into QCAD but not into the drawing area to edit the item) - Menu: Block > Attri...

Re: Blocks, Library, Edit Block, Edit Block In Place
When I then tested the part in an actual drawing, the Attributes were not a part of the BLOCK. They were there, but as separate entities. Without following your whole sequence of events, this statement above seems to be the main point of your confusion. This is correct and expected behaviour. Attri...

Re: Dimension line scale options seem to be missing
I'm unaware of such a glitch. Perhaps the scale is still there but you might have arranged the toolbars in such a way that it is no longer visible? A screenshot might help to solve the problem.

Re: Dimension line anomaly
The drawing file (DXF/DWG) is actually the important and relevant file that we would need.
Without the drawing file, I'm guessing that your drawing is 3D (try Misc > Modify > Flatten drawing to 2D).

Re: Blocks, Library, Edit Block, Edit Block In Place
the BLOCK is created when the library file is inserted into the drawing. Yes, your observations are correct, inserting a file from the part library into your drawing, creates a block with the block name being based on the file name. Blocks are named, reusable groups. Now, quite often some aspect of...

Re: Grid and Meta Grid
Perhaps just an illusion? Grid dots are more visible when close together than when far apart.
Can you compare two grid dots from two screenshots (zoomed in and zoomed out).
