Is there a way to make Ordinate Dimensions 1 Line

Hi All
Does anyone know of any settings that can change the default jogged line of the Ordinate
Dimension "I know you can hold down the Alt key to make it straight" but is there a setting
that removes this jogged part, so when I stretch a part the dimension text follows ?? See screenshot

Re: [ workaround ] Negative values with ordinate dimensions

Hi Husky

Thanks for your help and input yesterday, I've filed a bug report/feature request
I think it's a bug but I'd be happy if it gets implemented as a feature request

Re: [ workaround ] Negative values with ordinate dimensions

Hi Husky That works but it is not good, as it leaves the dimensions in the current positions what if you want to stretch it to 200mm ?? Very bad...this definitely needs looking at. Imagine a drawing with lots of cutouts and circles OMG what a mess... https://www.dropbox.com/s/e7rcmb2r8ls3v6e/Ordinat...

Re: [ workaround ] Negative values with ordinate dimensions

Hi Husky It should work stretching the ordinate dimension, it's a bug I'm 99.999999% sure :-) If its not a bug , show me how you would update a part with ordinate dimensions and have the dimensions update with it as it should, as long as they are not exploded ;-) Also the above example does nothing ...

Re: [ workaround ] Negative values with ordinate dimensions

Hi Husky I should of said vertical dimension sorry [ the 50mm one ] I think that's where we're getting our wires crossed... If you watch the video or try for yourself you'll see what I mean.... I think this could be a bug... it should change as I didn't explode it or anything like that.. Cheers John

Re: [ workaround ] Negative values with ordinate dimensions

Hi Husky
I don't need to sketch it, I know it won't
That's also not an ordinate dimension? I'll post
an AutoCAD video to show you what I mean...
maybe Qcad works differently but my 30+ years
in AutoCad tells me it shouldn't ;-)... we'll get there in the end..

Re: [ workaround ] Negative values with ordinate dimensions

Just Noticed there is also an option when creating a dimension at the top of the screen Label (No Prefix) but to add your own you need to type eg <> [REF] in the box to the right. I couldn't find info in the Reference Manual but it shows you this in the Qcad book that you can purchase online.... abo...

Re: Negative values with ordinate dimensions

I found a solution.... well maybe not solution but workaround :-) In the Label Properties when selecting a dimension the label by default says Auto if you edit this like so -<> it keeps the dimension and adds the "-" to the start, this can also be used to to add comments after the dimension for exam...
