Auto snap snaps to grid points, endpoints, middle points and intersections, whichever is closest. This might become configurable in the future.

Please note that QCad does not scale your drawing for you when changing the drawing unit. For example if a line was 10cm long and you changed the drawing unit to Millimeter, the line is now 10mm long. In fact, the drawing unit does not have any influence on the drawing geometry. It is only used when...

QCad 2.1.3.2 released

QCad 2.1.3.2 has been released today. This is mainly a bug fix release that fixes a bug with attributes of polylines and a serious bug under OS X that terminates QCad after using the snap to coordinate feature. Further, the property editor was extended to include the layer attribute. This makes it p...

No, the absolute zero is by definition not movable. However, you can move the whole drawing which gives you the effect you most likely expect: - Make sure all layers are visible - Select > Select All - Modify > Move / Copy - Set reference point at new position of absolute zero point - Click the curr...

Re: Areas

1. When drawing a polygon; let's say a rectangle, will I be able to establish the lines measurements? Yes, you would usually do that with the dimensioning tool. Dimensions are drawing elements that show for examples the length of a line. See also: http://www.ribbonsoft.com/qcad/manual_reference/cha...

Re: Newbie Question: Can't Delete Lines

Greetings. I installed v2.0.5 QCAD Community last week & am trying to figure out how to make it work. I made a couple of lines & tried to delete them but am unable to do so. I followed the manual from the help tab but, when I click edit, then delete, the arrow cursor becomes a square with crosshair...

Re: Install problem under linux

You can safely comment that part out, it is only used for debugging. Hi, I have just downloaded vec2web, set QTDIR and started the build script. However, when building libqcad I got: ../include/rs_math.h:90: warning: unused parameter ‘ok’ engine/rs_entity.cpp: In function ‘std::ostream& operator<<(s...
